"The Golden Notebook"

Miss Underwood and I are currently reading The Golden Notebook by Doris Lessing. (As lovely as Petrarch was, we only managed to get about a third of the way through his Canzoniere. Miss U. and I agreed that we were just a wee bit weary of the male point of view, having absorbed so many of the greats of late, and needed a dab of old-fashioned feminism.)

Of course, I'd already read Notebook ages ago, but Miss U. never had, so I decided to keep her company.

Next up: V. Woolf's The Waves.
