The House of Cobwebs

Am coming down the home stretch of my plan of reading the complete fictional ouevre of George Gissing. Now reading The House of Cobwebs, a slim volume of short stories with very evocative titles. Many of them are less short stories than expansions of Gissing's maxims and beliefs. Nonetheless, they express the Gissing style, and place one in a different era, which is all to the good.

Will Warburton, a novel, awaits.
